HOW YOU CAN HELP WITH PACE OF PLAY

Pace Of Play: 4.5 Hours or Less. No round should take longer than 4.5 hours.

We invite you to check our Policies page here.

Look Ahead

To be considered on pace, groups should comfortably be within one shot of the group ahead of them. If you have not seen anyone in front of your group for a while, you may have fallen behind pace. If you do not see a group behind you, it is likely that they have fallen behind, and this is not a reason for your group to not keep up your pace of play. A new group tees off every 10 minutes, and there are many groups coming up behind you.

Initiative

Anyone in your group can take the initiative and try to speed up your pace of play. Keep up with the group ahead of you or allow faster groups to play through. Also take the initiative to play a realistic set of tees for your own ability.

Play Ready Golf

“Ready golf” is a replacement for the traditional farthest-from-the-hole system of determining order of play in golf. Simply put, the first person ready to play their shot is free to play. Ready golf applies everywhere at Crosswinds, including on the tee, in the fairway and on the green.

Lost Balls

Any player who may have lost their ball on the course should not have the whole group look for it. Please follow a 60-second rule when looking for a lost golf ball.

Cart Golf

If you are playing in “Cart Path Only” conditions, take a few clubs plus the divot mix bottle with you to your ball, especially if it lies on the other side of the fairway.

Scorecard

Mark your score on the next tee deck. If you are on pace, you should always have to wait a few minutes on the group ahead of you to clear the landing area or green which will provide you the time to collect scores from the previous hole.

Player Assistants

Our GPS cart-tracking system will send a message to any cart that is falling behind pace. If your group is not able to get back on pace 1-2 holes after a cart message was sent, a Player Assistant will be sent to see if there are any issues. Please listen to the Player Assistants. If they ask you to please pick up your pace, they are simply doing their job to ensure everyone, including your group, enjoys their game.
